European Boycott of Iranian Oil Satisfies Lieberman

Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman expressed satisfaction, Monday morning, with the initial implementation of the European oil embargo on Iran, saying that there is no doubt that the Iranians are under pressure.

Interviewed by Kol Yisrael government radio, the deputy prime minister said, "One proof of this is military maneuver they started." He expressed his hope that within a month or two, the Tehran government would understand that the international community was resolute in its decision not to allow the Islamic Republic to develop nuclear weapons. He noted that after three rounds of talks between Iran and the superpowers, it was clear to all that the Iranians did not intend to give up their nuclear program and that their goal is to gain time to further their plan as quickly as possible.
