The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange closed out the trading week with modest losses in mixed trading on Thursday. The TA Composite Index finished the day at 961.23, down .81 percent, while the same percentage drop meant a 1,057.63 close for the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues, as the TA 100 declined .87 percent to 969.86. The 50 stocks outside the TA 100 rose .17 percent to 344.95.
The other positive note was struck by the biomed index, which rose three-tenths of a percent to 702.10, while the rest of the technology issues slipped .02 percent to 351.53. Worst hit were the bank stocks, which fell 2.87 percent to 836.15, as the financial institutions closed at 771.18, down 2.06 percent, including a 1.46 percent drop to 837.35 by the insurance index. The real-estate issues slumped 2.68 percent to 255.32, followed by the communications and media stocks, which finished the day at 388.78, down 1.36 percent. The oil and natural gas index declined .18 percent to 1,082.72.
