A special offer from Egged excludes Jews of Middle Eastern origin, according to the hareidi Kikar Hashabat. The offer allows those with a Rav Kav bus pass to get a free siddur (Jewish prayer book) with their name engraved with the purchase of 30 shekels or more of merchandise from Feldheim books.
Jews who pray according to Middle Eastern Jewish tradition were unpleasantly surprised to find that there was no siddur available with their style of prayer.
A representative for Feldheim told Kikar Hashabbat, “It’s a new siddur that just came out, apparently someone was not aware [of the lack]. Whoever reached an agreement with Egged did not take this into account.” The representative suggested that those who cannot find a siddur with their traditions take a siddur for Jews with European Jewish traditions instead and give it as a present.
