Judean Arab Charged with Property Deals for Terror

The Central District Prosecutor's Office filed indictments in the Central District Court, Monday, charging 32-year-old Ahmed Kadi of the southern Hevron Hills village of Surif with violating the prohibition on property transactions for terror, conspiracy to commit a crime and contact with a foreign agent, among other crimes. Prosecutors also sought to hold Kadi in custody until the end of legal proceedings against him.

According to the indictment, Kadi made contact with the Asir An-Noor (Prisoner of Light) 0organization, which assists security prisoners who have served their time in Israeli facilities, and sought compensation for his activities on behalf of Hamas. He was arrested by the Israel Defense on June 12th, near the Dahariya checkpoint, where he was supposed to receive the money. Another man was arrested nearby and $19,900 in compensation money was seized from the man's vehicle.
