The water level in the Kinneret (Seal of Galilee) has come down from its high mark in May and, as of Monday morning, stood at 211.47 meters/693.799 feet below sea level. That's 1.53 meters above the lower red line, below which authorities are worried about the quality of drinking water removed from the lake.
A year ago, the lake's water level stood at 212.52 meters/697.244 feet below sea level. Most of the meter's improvement was due to a good rainy season this past fall, winter and spring.
