Ashkelon Council Member Writes to PM About Missiles

Shim'on Cohen of the Ashkelon City Council sent a letter, Sunday evening, to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak, calling on them to take immediate aggressive action, without delay, to eradicate Gaza terror. Citing terror over the years, in addition to the current wave, Cohen called for the bombing of tunnels loaded with ammunition, an immediate end to the supply of cement to Gaza, and a cutoff of water and power to neighborhoods from which the terrorists are launching missiles.

Cohen wrote, "This situation is intolerable and it is not agreed, that a sovereign state allows an unsafe condition that threatens the lives of its citizens without adequate response, over many years." He said the response to a missile that is shot down or lands in an open space should be the same as the response to one that harms people or property.
