Cornerstone for Tekoa Classrooms Monday

Education Minister Gid'on Sa'ar and Chairman Davidi Perl of the Gush Etzion Regional Council are scheduled to take part, Monday morning, in the laying of a cornerstone for one of 12 new classrooms to be built in the Achdut School in the Judean Jewish community of Tekoa'.

The classrooms are part of a ten-million-shekel investment program for the school, whose enrollment is currently 285 students. Many of the students are from immigrant families, primarily from the former Soviet Union, France and Anglo-Saxon countries, with 40-50 percent of the students having special learning disabilities. An accelerated four-year building program will result in the school going from six classrooms to 16 in the coming year. Three of the classrooms will be for special education classes being opened for the first time.
