Despite most indices showing modest to sharp losses, the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange finished in the plus column at the end of trading on Sunday. The TA Composite Index closed at 979.88, up .48 percent, while the TA 100 rose .44 percent to 989.41, including a .64-percent advance to 1,080.38 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Worst hit were communications and media stocks, which fell 4.31 percent to 409.60, followed by the insurance index, which finished the day at 866.10, down 1.71 percent, as the financial institutions declined .74 percent to 800.58, including a closing post of 875.55, down .43 percent by the bank issues. The biomed stocks slumped one-and-a-half percent to 692.47, while the rest of the technology index closed at 352.72, down .52 percent. The real estate index declined .93 percent to 267.25, while the oil and natural gas index finished the day at 1,092.75, down .36 percent.
