PM: We'll Increase Response to Attacks if Necessary

Israel can and will increase its response to the missile attacks from Gaza, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said. Speaking at Sunday's cabinet meeting, Netanyahu said that the IDF had already acted harshly against terrorists in Gaza, and would increase its attacks if necessary. Israel defense officials said that Israel did not seek an increase in tensions, but if the rocket fire continued, the IDF would respond more harshly.

Since last Monday, a total of 138 Grad, Kassam, and mortar rockets have been fired at Israeli targets by Gaza Arab terrorists. One rocket fired at the Ashkelon area moderately wounded a border police officer, and lightly injured 11 people. Two rockets were fired early Sunday morning at targets in the Eshkol regional council. No injuries or damage were reported in that attack.
