At least 25 members of the "shabiha" grouo of pro-government thugs, who often operate as hired enforcers for President Bashar Assad's regime, were killed on Friday in Aleppo, likely by opponents of the regime.
The opposition claims that this group has carried out many of the massacre in the Syria. The UN recently fingered the shabiha as being responsible for the massacre in Houla.
