Tel Aviv municipal inspectos, accompanied by Yassam special police, began, Friday morning, to forcibly remove social activists who had come to Rothschild Boulevard for protest activity that had been coordinated on Wednesday with the head of the municipality's business-license department.
Chairman IdanMillerofthe jointcampsaid, "It is unthinkable that, in a democratic country,the publicis being deprived the basic rightto demonstrate andexpress its protest.The violentactionof theTel Aviv municipalinspectors, despite[our] receiving prior approvalfor the event,isan escalation by the authoritiesin their attempt to shutthemouthsof the publicdemanding a change inthe socio-economicagendain Israel."
