National Union with Hareidim Against Altered Tal Law

Member of Knesset Uri Ariel of the National Union party said, Friday, that the party would cooperate with the United Torah Judaism and Shas parties regarding their opposition to an alternative proposed for the Tal Law, which was struck down by the Supreme Court, a few months ago, as a way to encourage hareidi-religous integration into the military and the labor force. Interviewed on Radio Kol Chai, Ariel said his party had problems with the way the proposal relates to the Hesder yeshiva program, which combines religious studies and military service.

He said the parties would meet to see if they can draft an agreement on the subject.
