The Postal Authority inaugurated a commemorative stamp, Monday evening for the Western Wall Heritage Foundation's Generation Center. More than 1.2 million people have visited the center, located near the prayer area of the Western Wall Plaza, since it opened in 2005.
Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitch of the Western Wall and Holy Sites said, "This stamp does not indicate only a "past" but also, and mainly, a "future". The chain of generations plants, within us, the hope and strength for building." Referring to a line from the prayer book, he continued, "This stamp has deep significance for understanding the role of each and every one of us here and now, in terms of 'From generation to generation, we will declare Your greatness and through all eternity, we will sanctify Your holiness.'"
