Gainers were slightly ahead of losers at the start of trading, Tuesday, at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. A few minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 977.48, up .17 percent, while the same percentage increase meant a posting of 985.85 for the TA 100, including a .07 percent advance to 1,068.26 for the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Most of the technology stocks were up .73 percent at 355.09, while the biotech index was down .87 percent at 705.91. The real estate issues declined three tenths of a percent to 273.72, while the oil and natural gas stocks stood at 1,123.23, down .46 percent. The insurance index fell .49 percent to 940.01 as the financial institutions stood at 828.79, down nine tenths of a percent, including a 1.09 percent drop by the bank stocks. The communications and media index stood at 444.44, down .96 percent.
