Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange showed modest gains at the start of trading, Monday morning. About 20 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 982.50, up 33 percent, while the TA 100 rose .35 percent to 990.28, including an advance of .28 percent to 1,073.60 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Real estate was the leading sector, rising .65 percent to 273.98, followed by the insurance stocks, which stood at 950.07, up .37 percent, as the financial institutions started the day by rising .22 percent to 838.79, despite a .04 percent slip to 905.71 by the bank index. Most of the technology issues stood at 355.57, up .35 percent, while the biomed stocks advanced .26 percent to 719.42. The oil and natural gas index stood at 1,120.60, up .33 percent, while the communications and media stocks declined .63 percent to 449.82.
