Chairwoman Dalia Itzik of the Kadima Knesset faction said Sunday, "The government should notopentherescue servicesprovided byMagen David Adom,which is thenationalrescuebody - to competition."
Speaking during a visit to Jerusalem's new Magen David Adom (MDA) station, which was dedicated a few months ago, Itzik continued, "Just asit's impossibleto imaginethat Israel openpolice orfire services to competition,soit is unthinkableto introduce competitionto the organizationthat givesthe most advancedlife-savingservices tothe world.Ido not thinkthat this processis possibleat all." She was relating to other rescue services in the country which pose a real threat to MDA.
