Itzik: Rescue Services Should Not be Competitive

Chairwoman Dalia Itzik of the Kadima Knesset faction said Sunday, "The government should not open the rescue services provided by Magen David Adom, which is the national rescue body - to competition."

Speaking during a visit to Jerusalem's new Magen David Adom (MDA) station, which was dedicated a few months ago, Itzik continued, "Just as it's impossible to imagine that Israel open police or fire services to competition, so it is unthinkable to introduce competition to the organization that gives the most advanced life-saving services to the world. I do not think that this process is possible at all." She was relating to other rescue services in the country which pose a real threat to MDA.
