Roughly 2,000 Syrians have entered Turkey in the past 48 hours, Turkey’s Foreign Ministry said Wednesday. In total, nearly 30,000 Syrians are now taking refuge in Turkey.

More than 50,000 have sought refuge in Turkey over the past 15 months as Syrian President Bashar Assad’s troops violently put down an uprising. Several thousand have returned to their homes.
