Employees at the religious council in Lod, southeast of Tel Aviv, started taking organizational steps, Tuesday, after they did not receive their salaries for May and only half of their salaries for April.

As part of the steps, the council office will be closed and no new applications for kashrut certification or marriage registration will be processed. Funerals may be delayed, but ritual baths will continue to operate.
