Modest to moderate gains were reported, Monday morning, on most of the featured indices of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. A few minutes into the start of the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,004.48, up .59 percent, while the TA 100 rose .63 percent to 1,012.92, including a .62 percent advance to 1,101.46 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Leading the way were the insurance stocks, which rose 1.19 percent to 1,004.33 as the financial institutions got off with a posting of 872.37, up .77 percent, including a .62 percent advance to 941.30 by the bank index. Next came the communications and media issues, which stood at 480.95, up .89 percent, followed by the real estate stocks, which advanced .86 percent to 282.58. The oil and natural gas index stood at 1,156.66, up six tenths of a percent, followed by most of the technology stocks, which rose an average of .59 percent to 355.24. The biomed issues stood at 737.33, up four tenths of a percent.
