Intl. Court Demands Release of Libya Detainees

The International Court in the Hague is demanding that Libya release four detainees who have been representing Saif al-Islam, the son of deposed Libyan ruler Muammar Qaddafi. The four, the court said in a statement, should be immune from arrest or prosecution.

Police officials in Libya said that the four, led by an Australian lawyer representing Qaddafi's son, were arrested after they tried to give him a document “that endangered the security of Libya.” In addition, they said, the lawyer was found to be carrying a camera, in the shape of a pen, violatiing the rules under which she was permitted to visit her client.
