Harpaz forged a document, discovered in August 2010, which purported to instruct Yoav Gallant to use a smear campaign to succeed Gabi Ashkenazi as chief of staff of the Israel Defense Forces. Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss and Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein are at odds over conducting a criminal investigation into the affair.
