Last of Hareidi Drug Detainees Coming Home from Japan

The last of three hareidi-religious Israelis arrested in Japan in 2008 for involvement in drug running is about to return home after signing forms with the Japanese justice ministry, last week, to continue to serve his sentence in Israel. The other two were returned during the course of the past year.

Sources involved in the case say the exact date of the transfer will not be publicized due to the sensitivity of the matter in the eyes of Japanese officials. The detainees maintained throughout the case they thought they were taking antiques to Japan.
