Pollard Activist Sees Window of Opportunity

On the eve of President Shim'on Peres's trip to Washington, DC to receive the United States Medal of Freedom, Effie Lahav, who manages the struggle for the release of Jonathan Pollard, said, Thursday, that Peres will talk about justice and not about the law when he repeats Israel's request to free Pollard. Pollard is serving a life sentence for passing classified information from the U.S. to Israel.

Interviewed by Arutz Sheva's Hebrew service, Lahav said, "I am a realist and a realist is allowed to and should dream. I have a kind of inner feeling that the dream that Jonathan will be out is really drawing close, and if not it is a not a simple blow to take, but we will never stop our efforts until Jonathan is out, in his home in Jerusalem."
