The Color Red air raid siren was sounded in the vicinity of Ashkelon on Wednesday evening, But as of 9:00 PM it was reported that there was in fact no rocket attack and the siren was a false alarm, possibly due to faulty wiring in the siren system. The Israel Defense Force spokespersons unit announced that no rocket had been fired as was previously reported by some media outlets. Ashkelon has suffered multiple rocket attacks from Gaza forces in the past.
