Al-Qaeda's second-in-command, Abu Yahya al-Libi, was the target of a U.S. drone strike that killed 15 people in Pakistan on Monday, U.S. media reported.
U.S. officials confirmed to The New York Times that al-Libi had been the target of the missile attack in North Waziristan, a Taliban and Al-Qaeda stronghold. They could not say, however, whether he had survived the attack.
