A source close to Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz said, Monday, that the minister is expected to return from his visit to Europe on Monday and will be present at Wednesday's Knesset vote on a bill to authorize Jewish homes in Judea and Samaria that are threatened with uprooting under Supreme Court orders. The source said that Katz will meet with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Tuesday evening to discuss the vote.
Right-wing sources have been pressuring Katz and Deputy Prime Minister Silvan Shalom to return from abroad so that they can keep their promises and vote in favor of the measure at its first reading. The transportation minister said that he was not afraid of the threat that passage of the proposal would lead Israel's leaders to the International Court of Justice in the Hague. He added that the court would be a good forum for expressing Israel's case.
