An estimated 50,000 participated, Sunday afternoon, in the "Celebrating Israel" parade on New York City's Fifth Avenue. Heading the parade was Information and Diaspora Affairs Minister Yuli-Yoel Edelstein, accompanied by Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
Edelstein said, "Every year,the Ministryof Information and DiasporaAffairs is happyto take part inthe paradespectacularwhich took placehere.Tens of thousands ofpeoplemarchedhere. They didn't seek only to expresssupport for Israelbut tocelebratethe special relationshipbetweenIsrael andthe United States,rootedin common valuesandgoals."
