PM's Representative in Shalit Talks Leaving the Mossad

David Meidan, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's coordinator for prisoners of war and missing in action, and his personal representative in the negotiations for the return of Gilad Shalit, has decided to retire from the Mossad intelligence agency and enter the private sector. Meidan served 35 years in command and operational roles in the Mossad in Israel and abroad.

At Netanyahu's request Meidan will continue do deal with POWs and MIAs and other public matters as required. The Prime Minister said, "I thank David personally and on behalf of the citizens of Israel for the dedicated and important work he has done and will continue to do for the return of POWs and MIAs."
