Syrian President Bashar Assad demanded that UN envoy Kofi Annan remove the foreign observers from Syria, and threatened to act against the rebels in full force and overcome them within a day, if the UN continues to exert economic pressure on Syria, a Jordanian news site reported on Friday.
According to the report, which was based on a diplomatic source who claims that he was present during the conversation, the conversation between Assad and Annan was very difficult and included mutual threats.
