Hatikva Poet's Home to be Recognized as Heritage Site

The Yad Levanim (public organization for the memorialization of Israel's fallen soldiers and the welfare of bereaved families) House in the Haifa-area Druze city of Daliat Al-Carmel, including the residence of Naphtali Herz Imber, who wrote the words for Hatikva, Israel's national anthem, will be recognized as a national monument and later as a national heritage site.

The recognition is on the initiative of Deputy Minister for Galilee and Negev Development Ayoub Kara. It was agreed upon, Thursday, by Member of Knesset Kara and Aryeh Muallem, head of the Defense Ministry's memorials branch, during a meeting between the two at the ministry's headquarters in the Kiryah in Tel Aviv.
