The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange closed out the shortened trading week with moderate gains, Thursday. The TA Composite index rose 1.44 percent to 972.60, while the TA 100 finished the day at 981.28, up 1.46 percent, including a 1.51 percent climb by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
The communications and media stocks led the individual sectors, rising 1.35 percent to 460.51, followed by the bank index, 877.85, up 1.05 percent as the financial institutions advanced .49 percent to 825.94, despite a .57 percent decline to 943.75 by the insurance issues. Most of the technology stocks rose an average of .87 percent to 341.87, while the biomed index declined .46 percent to 715.29. The real estate issues rose .62 percent to 275.51, while the oil and natural gas stocks fell .78 percent to 1,129.26.
