The parents of 24-year-old Ala Aghbariya will receive 2 million shekels in compensation from the Israeli government as ruled by the Nazareth district court. Aghbariya was hiking near the Jordanian border in 2009 when he wandered into a minefield. He was wounded when the mine exploded. An Israeli Defense Force rescue helicopter attempted to airlift him from the area but he fell to his death. His parents sued the government in response.
