Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’s refusal to speak to Israel hurts primarily the PA, the head of the Shin Bet said Wednesday, speaking to the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee. Abbas’s stance “did damage in the West Bank and in Gaza,” he said.
When it comes to fighting terrorism, the PA “primarily act to calm the situation, not make arrests,” he said. However, he added, the PA will act if there is a concrete warning from Israel.
