Yesha (Judea and Samaria) Council head Danny Dayan visited the anti-demolition protest tent in Jerusalem Wednesday and gave his support to two men who have started a hunger strike over threats to Judea and Samaria communities.
“The entire settlement enterprise stands as a united front to say that there is no room here for compromise or deals,” he declared. “The buildings in the [Ulpana] neighborhood must not be demolished in any way.”
Protesters are calling on the government to pass a law that would stop the demolition of legal Judea and Samaria communities in cases where Palestinian Authority Arabs appear years later to claim ownership of the land. The bill would PA claimants monetary compensation rather than destroying homes.
