Judea and Samaria Commander Brigadier-General Yoav Mordechai has asked residents of Beit El’s Ulpana neighborhood to leave their homes voluntarily. Mordechai made the request Wednesday morning in a meeting with Beit El Council head Moshe Rosenbaum.
The IDF and police will most likely be ordered to demolish the neighborhood, said Mordechai, and residents’ cooperation could be critical to prevent bloodshed.
Rosenbaum and other city officials were angered by the request and told Mordechai to leave. Destruction in Beit El “will be worse than the eviction in Amona,” they told him.
