The Knesset approved on Tuesday the second and third reading of a bill which stipulates that owners of dogs who did not undergo neutering or spaying will pay 300 shekels more in order to have their pets’ license renewed.

According to the Chairman of the Knesset’s Pet Lobby, MK Eitan Cabel, “The purpose of the law is to deal in the most humane way with the phenomenon of the thousands of stray dogs who are put down every year or who suffer from abuse.”
