Modest gains were reported on most indices of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange in mixed trading, Tuesday morning. A few minutes into the session, the TA Composite index stood at 970.59, up .28 percent while the TA 100 rose .29 percent to 979.37, including a .47 percent advance to 1,065.07 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested stocks.
Leading the gainers was the bank index, which rose .74 percent to 900.38 as the financial institutions opened at 838.04, up .39 percent, including an advance of .21 percent to 951.50 by the insurance issues. The communications and media stocks stood at 464.66, up 34 percent, while the real estate index rose .14 percent to 276.39. While the biomed index stood at 738.98, the rest of the technology issues declined .32 percent to 334.90 and the oil and natural gas stocks declined .55 percent to 1,154.22.
