Shekel Up Slightly on Quiet Exchange Day

The official value of the shekel rose an average of .0009 percent, Friday, in mixed trading against the other featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.849, up .052 percent, while the Euro rose .074 percent to 4.8395 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at NIS 6.0368, up .071 percent, while 100 Japanese yen dropped a quarter of a percent to 4.8333 shekels. The South African rand rose .391 percent to NIS .4621, while the Australian dollar was set at 3.7691, up .271 percent. The Norwegian Krone declined .343 percent to .6393 shekels.
