Hamas Housing Minister Calls Settlement Bill 'Racist'

Dr. Yousouff Al-Mansi, Housing Minister of the Hamas government in Gaza, condemned the Israeli government Thursday, following passage of a law to encourage settlement throughout the land of Israel, and emphasized that this is a racist law that goes against all international laws and treaties, according to the Al-Kassam Website, associated with Hamas. His comments came despite the removal of the word "Zionist" from language of the law to conform to international standards.

In a statement, Dr. Al-Mansi called for the Palestinian Authority to stop negotiations and security cooperation with Israel, and stressed that the negotiations did not achieve results because "the Zionist promises are worthless."
