IDF Hareidi Rabbi to Bridge Torah World to IDF Chiefs

Major Shimshon Klein was installed, Thursday evening, as the first rabbi of the Israel Defense Forces' hareidi-religious services. Speaking during the ceremony, which took place at Jerusalem's Great Synagogue, Rabbi Klein said, "I mean to be a bridge between the yeshiva leaders and the Torah world and military leaders."

Chief Military Rabbi Rafi Peretz said "The appointment of Rabbi Klein is an important step of the army of for the integration of the best of the hareidim. The IDF attaches great importance to the hareidi soldiers who made an important step, and the IDF is full of appreciation and does not take it for granted."
