Shekel, Dollar, Yen Up; Euro Down

The official value of the shekel rose an average of .515 percent, Thursday, against most of the currencies featured on the Bank of Israel's foreign exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.847, while the Euro fell .873 percent to 4.8359 shekels. The Swiss frank, which is linked to the Euro, declined .879 percent to NIS 4.0266.

The pound sterling was set at 6.0325 shekels, down .583 percent, while 100 Japanese yen declined .292 percent to NIS 4.8454. The Danish krone was fixed at .6508 shekels, down .868 percent, and the South African rand rose .218 percent to NIS .4603.
