Six Suspected of Selling Organs

Six people have had their remands extended for allegedly selling human organs. A seventh suspect was released to house arrest.

The organs ring, uncovered by the special police anti-corruption unit Lahav 443, operated primarily in Kosovo and Sri Lanka. Locals were paid small sums of money to donate kidneys, which were then sold to desperately ill patients for 100,000 to 150,000 shekels.
