Netanyahu: Vote Down Legalization Bill

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has called on the coalition to vote down a bill that would prevent the demolition of Israeli-owned homes in Judea and Samaria in cases where Palestinian Authority Arabs claim ownership of the land. The bill would provide land owners with compensation if they could prove their claims.

Netanyahu has expressed opposition to the bill, and has called to find alternative ways to save homes threatened with destruction. MK Zevulun Orlev (Jewish Home) heeded the Prime Minister’s request and withdrew a proposed legalization bill, but MK Yaakov “Ketzaleh” Katz has put forth a similar bill despite Netanyahu’s call.
