Kachlon: I'll Vote to Keep Ulpana Homes

Communications Minister Moshe Kachlon said that he would vote in favor of a law that will ensure that residents of Givat Ha'ulpana are able to remain in their homes. Speaking Monday, Kachlon said that he would “not allow the destruction of the homes in the Ulpana neighborhood.”

The statement comes after a meeting by senior religious Zionist Rabbis Zalman Melamed, Haim Druckman, Zefania Drori, and Haim Steiner with Education Minister Gideon Sa'ar, asking him to back the law as well. The Likud is officially not supporting the law, but residents of the neighborhood and their supporters have been urging minister to buck coalition discipline and vote in favor of the law anyway.
