With international investors joining their Israeli counterparts, Monday morning, most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange showed modest to moderate gains. About a quarter of an hour into trading, the TA Composite index was up .28 percent at 974.70, while the TA 100 stood at 984.40, up three tenths of a percent, including a four tenths of a percent rise to 1,077.04 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.

Following Sunday's sharp losses, the communications and media stocks led the gainers, rising 1.42 percent to 477.65, followed by the bank index, which stood at 938.76, up 1.01 percent, as the financial institutions rose .51 percent to 854.35, tempered by a .36 percent decline to 952.90 by the insurance issues. The real estate stocks advanced .76 percent to 275.41, while most of the technology index stood at 325.98, up a tenth of a percent and the biomed issues declined three tenths of a percent to 727.13. The oil and natural gas stocks stood at 1,174.24, up .01 percent.
