Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu pledged, during the Jerusalem Day celebrations at the Merkaz HaRav yeshiva on Sunday evening, that he will continue to build Jerusalem.
“I know it is my duty to speak in the name of a nation that marked each celebration and tragedy by fulfilling a simple wish,” said Netanyahu. “Building Jerusalem is a sacred promise which I'll never abandon.”
Netanyahu spoke of his meetings with world leaders on the issue of Jerusalem, noting that “Some see this history of the Jewish people as a great burden and say that in order to ensure the future we must break away from the past - they are wrong.”
