Vendors in Jerusalem's Old City Market must keep their merchandise inside their stores, and not display them in the alleys of the market, as they usually do. Police issued an order not to display the merchandise in the alleys in order to accommodate the flag parade that is to be held Sunday afternoon in honor of Jerusalem Day. Police suggest that vendors close their stores between 3 PM and 6 PM, when the parade takes place, although they are not required to.
Police said in a flyer distributed to the vendors that tens of thousands of people would be participating in the event, and police were seeking to minimize damage to property and prevent tension.
