Egyptians Halt Gas Trucks Bound for Gaza

Egyptian security officials halted two trucks in Sinai that were carrying gasoline, apparently meant for Gaza. According to a report, the trucks broke through a checkpoint near El Arish. Security officers fired at the tires of the vehicle, disabling it, and arrested the drivers.

Importation of gas to Gaza from Sinai is not illegal, but all shipments must be approved by Egyptian authorities.
