Shekel Down, Yen Jumps, Euro Edges Dollar

The official value of the shekel declined an average of .232 percent Friday, against most of the currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.84, up .313 percent from Thursday's rate, while the Euro rose .321 percent to 4.8682 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at NIS 6.0632, down .018 percent, while 100 Japanese yen jumped 1.585 percent to 4.8463 shekels. The South African rand slipped .131 percent to NIS .4570.
