Shekel Stronger; Dollar Better Off than Euro


The official value of the shekel rose and average of .318 percent, Thursday, against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.828, down .183 percent from Wednesday's rate, while the Euro declined .48 percent to 4.8526.

The pound sterling was set at NIS 6.0643, while 100 Japanese yen rose .073 percent to 4.7707 shekels. The Norwegian krone edged up .031 percent to NIS .6396. The Canadian dollar declined .661 percent to NIS 3.7731 and the Swedish krona was fixed at .531 shekels, down .785 percent.
